CAIRO, Aug 18 (MENA) - The General Secretariat of the Arab League (AL) will launch a training course on honing the skills of adult refugee trainers in Arab countries on August 19-23 at UNESCO regional center, ASFEC, in Monufia governorate.

Co-organized by the Arab States Fundamental Education Center (ASFEC) and the Arab Scout Region, the course will see delegations of volunteer scout leaders from the refugee and shelter zones across the Arab world.

The course will enable trainees to train their fellow volunteers in the targeted areas with the aim of uprooting illiteracy, according to a statement issued by the Arab League.

The training course falls within the framework of the pan-Arab body leading role in granting refugees access to education throughout crises they suffer, the statement added.

It is also comes on the back of a resolution issued by the Al council during its 26th session in Sharm El Sheikh, 29/3/205, which entailed the endorsement of the Arab charter on literacy and adult education (2015-2024).
