KHARTOUM, Aug 17 (MENA) - Egypt's Ambassador to Sudan Hossam Eissa on Saturday congratulated the Sudanese people on the signing of the power-sharing deal that paves the way for an anticipated civil government.

The ambassador described the singing ceremony, which kicked off earlier in the day with an international and regional participation, a historic celebration that marks the achievement of the Sudanese people's aspirations and paying off of sacrifices made throughout the previous months.

The coming period would witness support by Egypt to Sudan in face of various challenges, ambassador Eissa said in statements.

"Today, we are witnessing the beginning of a new era in Sudan. Egypt is keen on taking part in the celebration with a high-level representation by Prime Minster Mostafa Madbouli who leads a high-level Egyptian delegation to Khartoum," said the ambassador.

He pointed out to prospected strategic projects in power linkage, railways, scholarships and cultural sphere between the two countries.
