CAIRO, July 13 (MENA) - The permanent Egyptian mission to the United Nations office in Geneva succeeded on Friday in passing a resolution during the 41st session of the Human Rights Council, titled "Youth and human rights."

The UN resolutions is the first of its kind which points to the contributions of the first and second editions of Egypt's World Youth Forum, held in Sharm El Sheikh in 2017 and 2018.

Permanent Representative of Egypt to the UN Ambassador Alaa Youssef said that the Egyptian statement during the session stressed that Egypt believes that the increase in youth percentage worldwide, especially in the developing states, is related to enormous challenges and opportunities including offering the suitable climate for them to enjoy full human rights.

Youth will be the main beneficiary from the outcomes of 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, Youssef noted.

The Egyptian delegation reviewed World Youth Forum's emergence as a platform for youth to support their ideas and freely express their opinions without restrictions as well as recommending initiatives for decision makers.

The delegation pointed out that about 5,000 youth from all over the world partook in the latest edition in 2018 to express their opinions about the global challenges faced by the world, the ambassador added.
