CAIRO - 10 July 2019: The Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development (DFID) will organize a special program for prominent African media personalities from July 13 to 27, according to Secretary General of the agency Ahmed Shaheen on Tuesday.

The program will include a workshop on the role of media in supporting sustainable development in Africa, in cooperation with Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies.

The program will also tackle arranging meetings for ministers and senior officials, and visits to the Suez Canal axis, the New Administrative Capital, the Media Production City, and a number of institutions, factories and important projects.

About 39 participants from 32 African countries will take part in the program, Shaheen revealed.

He added that it is good that the program coincides with the Egyptian presidency of the African Union, to inform the participants of the most important developments and achievements in Egypt with the success of the program of financial, economic and social reform.

Furthermore, Shaheen explained that the program of African media is aimed at enhancing communication and exchanging experiences in the media and development fields, stressing the important role played by the media in supporting sustainable development in the African continent.
