CAIRO – 10 June 2017: Sheikha Nouf bint Ahmed al-Thani, secretary-general of the Qatari opposition coalition, called Saturday for ousting Emir Tamim bin Hamad, due to the deterioration of the situation.

On her official twitter account, the secretary general published a statement signed by a number of leaders of the Qatari army, calling for the interference of the international community, represented by the United Nation and the Arab League, to remove the emir and try him for his crimes of supporting terrorism.

“Given the situation in Qatar, and especially after the appointment of Turkish general Tayyip Erdogan as proxy Supreme Commander of the Qatari Armed Force … and given the recent infiltration of the Turkish army and Revolutionary Iranian Guards, which is an act of treason,” she stated, “we, the signatories, declare our dissent from the army until right goes back to the faithful people.”

The statement was signed by ten high-rank officials in the Qatari army.

Earlier this week, several Arab countries announced cutting off diplomatic ties with Qatar over its alleged support of terrorism. On Friday, Erdogan approved legislation on deploying Turkish troops in Qatar, signaling support for the Gulf state.
