CAIRO, June 26 (MENA) - Al Azhar University started holding a number of workshops on boosting the higher education strategy in Africa.
The university holds the workshops in cooperation with Association of African Universities (AAU) ahead of a conference for higher education leaderships in Africa due on July 8-11 under the rubric "The role of higher education institutions in boosting higher education strategy in the African continent".
In a statement on Wednesday, the university said that the conference will discuss issues of mutual interest especially the priorities needed for developing higher education in African universities and educational institutions.
The first workshop will be held on July 6-7 and will focus on "knowledge and skills of higher education quality in the 21st century" and another workshop will be held on July 15-18 on "university leadership, transparency and international cooperation".
The conference will be held for the first time in Egypt. As many as 300 heads of universities and representatives of the international authorities, 180 universities and 43 international institutions will participate in the event.
