CAIRO, May 18 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Saturday stressed the importance of clearing streets of any waste, construction debris and all forms of road occupancy.

He also asserted the need to strictly deal with any complaints about encroachments on state land, urging the authorities concerned to show no leniency on that score.

The premier made his remarks during a meeting at the cabinet's premises to discuss a report prepared by the Unified Government Complaints System on the government's efforts to deal with citizens' complaints from July 1, 2018 to April 30, 2019.

"Thanks to the government's efforts to improve the complaints system, more citizens started to use it," Director of the Unified Government Complaints System Tarek el Refaei told the prime minister during the meeting, noting that these efforts aimed to ensure a higher level of responsiveness to citizen's complaints.

The total number of complaints submitted through the system during the above-mentioned period amounted to 435,239 compared to 270,582 in the same period in the previous fiscal year, registering an increase of 84%, Refaei said.

This increase clearly demonstrates citizen's confidence in the government's electronic system, he added, noting that 17 principal bodies and 422 affiliates have been electronically merged into the system, bringing the total number to 99 principal bodies and 2,074 affiliates.
