CAIRO, May 4 (MENA) - Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and former top lawmaker at Germany's Bundestag Volker Kauder reviewed Saturday cooperation aspects between both countries.

This came during a meeting between Shoukry and the former head of the Bundestag's Christian Democratic Union in Cairo, Foreign Ministry's Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said.

Hailing cooperation ties between both friendly nations, Shoukry asserted Egypt's keenness on furthering them.

He also lauded the efforts Kauder had exerted to promote bilateral relations during his term at the German Bundestag.

Both officials stressed the importance of furthering bilateral ties at all levels, especially in the economic domain, Hafez added.

Highlighting Egypt's central role in the Middle East, Kauder emphasized that his country asserts the importance of pushing forward cooperation ties to serve mutual interests.

Shoukry briefed Kauder on Egypt's vision on current regional crises, especially the latest developments in Libya, the spokesman noted.
