CAIRO – 23 April 2019: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry is expected to meet with Cypriot Parliament Speaker Demetris Syllouris in Cairo on Tuesday.

According to an official statement, the meeting will take place in the ministry’s headquarters.

This is not Syllouris' first visit to Egypt. In April 2018, Syllouris visited Egypt for two days, met with a number of senior officials and visited the Parliament.

Syllouris' visit was preceded by the visit of Cypriot Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides to Cairo in the same month.

In May 2018, Egyptian House Speaker, Ali Abdel Aal, received an invitation from Syllouris to pay an official visit to the latter’s country in September to discuss ways of enhancing bilateral relations between Egypt and Cyprus.

On Saturday, April 20, Shoukry was seen at Saiza Nabarawi School in The Fifth Settlement to vote on the constitutional amendments.
