CAIRO – 18 April 2019: Members of the The Coordination Committee of Parties' Youth Leaders and Politicians have urged hundreds of students to take part in the upcoming referendum on constitutional amendments set to take place starting Saturday inside the country.

This took place during a concert for Rami Sabri in Ain Shams University, where the members of the political committee urged the students to perform their constitutional right, before the famous singer took the stage.

The ceremony was presented by talented TV presenters Ahmed Abdel-Samad, and Ada Ibrahim.

The Committee of Parties' Youth Leaders and Politicians is a political committee that aims, according to their description, to strengthen the role of youth in the Egyptian political life, and qualify the young cadres to develop and lead the country.

The Parliament approved on Tuesday a draft report of a number of constitutional amendments presented earlier by its legislative committee.

The approval came with the total number of 531 members endorsed the amendments out of 554 participated in voting. 22 Parliamentarian refused the amendments while one member abstained from voting.

Lasheen Ibrahim, head of the National Election Authority (NEA), called on the Egyptian expatriates to vote in the planned referendum on constitutional amendments from Friday, April 19, to Sunday, April 21. He also announced that the public referendum for the locals inside the country will take place from Saturday, April 20 to Monday, April 22.

Ibrahim urged the citizens to accompany their children and enjoy their constitutional right, urging them to ignore the boycott calls, and to cast their ballot in polling stations nationwide.

There will be a judge to supervise each of the ballot boxes, Ibrahim said, affirming that the NEA, the body charged with managing the electoral process, is keen to ensure the transparency of the voting process.
