CAIRO - 21 March 2019: Director of the UN Development Program Achim Steiner reiterated on Thursday the program's keenness on bolstering cooperation with Egypt to achieve development in the African continent during the presidency of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of the African Union.

Steiner, speaking on the sidelines of a high-level UN conference concerned with cooperation among southern countries in Buenos Aires, lauded the legislative and economic reforms carried out by Egypt and its social protection program.

He said the program supported Egypt to improve its national economy.

Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr hoped that strategic partnership between the African Union and the UN development Program would take place during the Egyptian presidency of the AU.

She said Egypt is keen on setting up partnerships with different UN institutions to lure more investments to the African continent.
