CAIRO – 8 March 2019: The General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone has announced that it is closed to finalizing contracts with international companies to operate new quays at the East Port Said port.

Authority's chairman vice admiral Mohab Mamish announced on Friday that negotiations are underway with other major international companies to do business at the port and that these new docks will be operational by mid 2020.

"Mercedes" will be among the international companies that will provide logistics services at the harbor's quays, Mamish added.

He further noted that the authority has signed a contract with the French company "Ecoslops" to establish a plant for oil residues treatment.

He revealed the Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT) plans to make expansion at the harbor.
