CAIRO – 5 May: Yehia Qadry, legal Expert and founder of Tanweer political movement, called on Arab countries to suspend Qatar’s membership in the Arab League amid political escalations taken against the tiny Gulf country on Monday.

He added that they should exclude Qatar from any political activity until it gets back on the “right track as a brotherly Arab country and abandons its hostile policies” against Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Libya.

Qadry said that Qatar’s statements revealed its loyalty to Turkey and its plans against the region.

“Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain’s decision to cut ties with Qatar is a wise move and came after a long period of patience,” he added.

As of Monday, at least eight countries had cut diplomatic ties with Qatar for its “continuous support for terrorism,” closing airspace and seaports to Qatari transportation.

Egypt and the Gulf states gave Qatari diplomatic missions in their countries 48 hours to return to Doha.
