CAIRO – 15 February 2019: At his residence in Munich, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi met with President and Chief Operating Officer of Rohde and Schwarz group Peter Riedel on Thursday, said Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Radi in a statement.


President Sisi expressed Egypt’s keenness to cooperate with the company in the technology field, as it is one of the pioneering companies in the information and communication technology field, Radi added.


The Munich-based company provides products of securing communication, monitoring and cyber security. Its service network covers more than 70 countries, according to the company’s official website.


President Sisi arrived in Germany on Thursday to participate in the 2019 Munich Security Conference (MSC 2019) due on Feb. 15-16. Being the chairperson of the African Union, Sisi is set to deliver a speech at the Conference on Saturday to be the first Arab president address this three-day gathering.


The Egyptian- German relationship is getting much better. The numerous official German visits to Egypt reflect the Egyptian political stability,” Vice- President of the Landtag Brandenburg Dietmar Woidke said.


Furthermore, cooperation with Germany in the automotive sector has witnessed a remarkable progress, especially after the return of Mercedes to the Egyptian market, according to a Thursday statement by the Egyptian ambassador to Berlin Badr Abdel Ati.


A technical delegation from Mercedes intends to visit Egypt in February 2019 to activate the decision of resuming the company's activity in Egypt, the ambassador added.


On Feb. 12, 2019, both countries inked a 250-million-dollar agreement to boost the Egyptian social and economic reform program.
