ASWAN, Upper Egypt, Feb 10 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli inspected on Sunday a new factory of the state-owned Egyptian Chemical Industries Company (KIMA) in the Upper Egypt governorate of Aswan.

Madbouli was accompanied by Public Enterprise Minister Hisham Tawfiq and Aswan Governor Ahmed Ibrahim.

The inspection tour came ahead of the president's inauguration of the factory.

The 235-million-euro project is expected to produce 1,200 tons of ammonia per day alongside urea fertilizers using natural gas.

A group of Egyptian banks, including the National Bank of Egypt, Bank de Caire, Banque Misr and Arab-African International Bank, contributes to the project which is being carried out by an Italian company.
