CAIRO - 15 January 2019: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi issued decree no. 23 of 2019 on regulating the travel of senior state officials during official missions abroad.

The decree stipulates in its first article that the permission for travel abroad in official missions and activities concerning jobs must be approved by the president of the republic.

The decree applies to the prime minister, deputy prime ministers and ministers of defense, interior, justice and foreign affairs, as well as heads of independent control and security agencies and their deputies.

The decree also stipulates that travel abroad on official missions or jobs for officials not mentioned in first article must, especially deputy prime ministers, governors deputy governors, heads of national agencies, public agencies and holding companies managers, be approved by the prime minister.

The decree has been published in the official gazette.
