CAIRO, Dec 11 (MENA) - New Slovenian Ambassador to Egypt Mateja Prevolsek asserted the importance of Egypt's role in the Middle East and Africa.

In an interview with MENA on Tuesday, Prevolsek necessitated benefiting from good political ties to boost cooperation and intensify visits between Egyptian and Slovenian businessmen.

A Slovenian official is to participate in the summit to be held between the Arab League and the European Union in Sharm el Sheikh in February, Prevolsek said.

Slovenian President Borut Pahor invited Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to visit Slovenia, she said, adding that Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry invited his Slovenian counterpart Karl Erjavec to visit Egypt.

Prevolsek said that trade exchange between Egypt and Slovenia reached dlrs 100 million, adding that Egypt exports mining oils, fuel, petroleum substances, some fruits and nuts to Slovenia.

Prevolsek said that the Egyptian government under president Sisi is willing to go on in implementing reforms and that the investment atmosphere in Egypt is improving after the flotation of the Egyptian pound.
