UN lauds Egypt's role in peacekeeping operations

CAIRO - 18 November 2018: UN Under Secretary for Peacekeeping Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix lauded the role played by Egypt in the UN peacekeeping operations as considered one of the largest contributing countries.

In press statements on the sidelines of the high-level regional conference on developing the performance of peacekeeping operations, the UN official said the conference provides a chance to express recognition of Egypt's efforts in peacekeeping operation and expand cooperation between the UN and contributing countries.

He said his visit to Cairo aims at probing ways of fostering cooperation between Egypt and the UN.

He reiterated UN support of all efforts aiming at boosting African capabilities especially as regards fighting terrorism and achieving peace.
