CAIRO – 28 May 2017: The New Administrative Capital Company is planning to establish the embassies neighborhood in Egypt's new metropolis after having studied all proposals, Executive Chairman Ayman Ismail revealed Sunday.

According to Ismail, they still have not settled whether the company will open the door for embassies to buy the buildings or if specific lands will be allocated for each embassy.
"Establishing foreign embassies follows a specific system all over the world and we will be collaborating with the Foreign Affairs Ministry in this matter," Ismail said.

Assistant Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communication Khaled Abbas said that the designs of the neighborhood are currently in process, adding that a number of ambassadors have already visited the project including the German, French, British and UAE ambassadors.

The embassies neighborhood will be built on 1,500 feddans in Egypt's new administrative capital, located along the corridor between Cairo and the Red Sea.
The neighborhood is also set to include residential districts for foreign diplomats to be close to the embassies, sources revealed.

The administrative capital is planned to consist of residential districts, artificial lakes, educational institutions, hospitals and clinics, mosques, 40,000 hotel rooms, a major theme park, 91 square kilometers of solar energy farms, an electric railway link with Cairo, and a new international airport, according to State Information Service.

Abbas further stated that work has kicked off in the governmental neighborhood, where a number of ministers are being built, in parallel with establishing the main facilities of the capital, such as water, sanitation, electricity and roads.
