Defense minister attends "Nasr-14" military drills

CAIRO, 10 September 2018: Minister of Defense and Military Production Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki witnessed on Wednesday the main phase of "Nasr-14" military drills conducted by personnel of the Second Field Army.

The drills come within the framework of the annual training plans of the Armed Forces' formations and units. They also coincide with Egypt’s celebrations of the 45th anniversary of the October 6 War victory.

Zaki lauded the Armed Forces’ excellent performance in carrying out combat duties, stressing that the Egyptian army is keen to upgrade its forces’ capabilities in all domains.

The defense minister conveyed greetings from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the personnel of the Second Field Army.

He also commended the Armed Forces’ efforts to protect Egypt’s borders, pointing to the success of the army and police in confronting terrorism as part of Comprehensive Operation Sinai 2018.

The drills were attended by Armed Forces Chief of Staff Mohamed Farid, top military brass, cadets in addition to two delegations from the UAE and Bahrain.
