CAIRO - 6 October 2018: Most of the 37 people injured in a massive fire that broke out in palm farms in Rashdah village in the New Valley governorate have recovered, New Valley Governor Mohamed el Zamalout said.

The injured included seven firefighters and civil defense forces, he said in press statements on Saturday.

The governor pointed out that 50 ambulances were dispatched to the blaze site and swiftly carried the injured to nearby hospitals and health units.

Five mobile clinics were set up at the scene of the fire, Zamalout added.

Some of the injured cases are still under observation, he said.

Strong winds and bad weather sweeping the governorate have made it difficult to control the fire at night, the governor said, stressing that the blaze has been contained.

Meanwhile, Zamalout noted that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has ordered to send four military firefighter aircraft to help control the fire.
