PARIS - 15 September 2018: Egypt's ambassador in Paris Ehab Badawi has lauded the deeply-rooted relations with France.

Badawi's remarks, to MENA, came as Montpellier in southern France will host an exhibition on Suez Canal on the 150th anniversary of its establishment.

He described the step as part of the historic and cultural ties between Cairo and Paris.

The diplomat asserted that Egypt is keen to promote the relations with the European country.

Both countries are preparing for the Egyptian-French cultural year in 2019, a step recently announced by the mayor of Montpellier at a joint conference with Egypt's Culture Minister Inas Abdel-Dayem.
