Burundi president opens Egyptian center for newborn babies, hails Egypt over its support

CAIRO - 13 September 2018: Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza inaugurated on Thursday the new local hospital in Ngozi province where he also opened the new Egyptian-Burundian center for newborn babies.

The inauguration was also attended by Egyptian Ambassador to Burundi Abeer Bassiouni Radwan and a number of Burundian ministers.

The ambassador reviewed Egypt's efforts to serve health sector in Burundi including the establishment of the center that was funded by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development.

The cost of the center’s establishment, equipment and the training of Burundi technicians amounted to EGP 2 million.

Meanwhile, the Burundian president and health minister hailed Egypt over its continuous support to their country and called for boosting ties in the health field.
