CAIRO - 29 August 2018: Spokesman for the Coptic Orthodox Church Paulus Halim on Wednesday said that President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi expressed appreciation for the Egyptian Church's role and his reverence Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria as a patriotic man who played a nationalistic role in the past few years.

In press statements, he added that president Sisi held a meeting earlier today with pope Tawadros and young Copts who participated in the World Forum for Coptic Expatriates.

During the meeting, the president said that Egypt looks only at its sons from a nationalistic viewpoint that holds high the values of citizenship and tolerance, added the spokesman.

The president held an open dialogue with Coptic young people and answered all questions about the current situation in Egypt, the spokesman pointed out.
