CAIRO – 24 May 2017: Egypt's Dar Al Iftaa's Takfiri Fatwas and Extremist Views Observatory in a Tuesday press statement condemned the terrorist attack targeting the crowd gathering for the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England.

The Islamic State (IS) group has claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing that killed 22 people and injured at least 59.

The statement said the attack indicates a growth in the terrorist organization’s strength in the west, as it now has the necessary qualified and trained elements for carrying out such acts.

The observatory further said that combating terrorism is a global duty; therefore, no country should distance itself from it.

The statement strongly stressed that terrorism is not restricted to a certain religion; furthermore, it does not differentiate between people and their beliefs, for it is only a “disease” that seeks the destruction of all nations and religions.

The observatory called upon British authorities and international media outlets to refrain from holding Islam and Muslims accountable for these terror acts.
