CAIRO - 19 August 2018: Egypt expressed on Sunday heartfelt condolences to India over the victims of the floods that hit the Indian State of Kerala.

The death toll from the worst flooding to hit India's Kerala state in a century has jumped to 357. Roads and bridges have suffered damage.

In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry reiterated Egypt's support of Indian people and government at this critical time, expressing confidence that India would overcome this ordeal as soon as possible.

The idyllic tourist hotspot has been badgered by torrential monsoon rains since the end of May, triggering landslides and flash floods that have swept away entire villages
