CAIRO - 18 August 2018: The official Facebook page of the World Youth Forum (WYF) announced Saturday the opening of registration for the second edition, calling on youth from all over the world to participate.

The WYF will be held in Sharm El Sheikh from November 2-6, 2018, under the patronage of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, where approximately 3,000 young people, represented by 60 international delegations, will take part in the international forum, in an effort to explore key issues facing youth and determine their role in implementing global development goals and combating terrorism.

According to the official website, the WYF was founded to send a message of peace, prosperity, harmony, and progress to the entire world. It engages youth from around the globe in an enriching set-up, allowing them to exchange views and recommend initiatives to decision-makers and influential figures. It is also a chance for youth to engage with top policymakers, network with promising individuals from the region and the world that are determined to make our world a better place for everyone.

The idea of the forum was originally proposed on 25 April 2017, when a group of young Egyptians presented an initiative at the National Youth Conference in Ismailia to engage in dialogue with youth around the world. The president responded to the initiative on 24 July 2017 at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina during the National Youth Conference in Alexandria, launching the First World Youth Forum, which was held in Sharm El-Sheikh in November 2017.

Sisi brings WYF Recommendations into force

CAIRO - 13 November 2017: Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-sisi held a meeting on Monday with the Head of Cabinet, the Governor of the Central Bank, and a number of ministers on the sidelines of the World Trade Forum set of recommendations.
