CAIRO – 21 July 2018: In preparation for the annual Islamic pilgrimage season, the Ministry of Tourism is gearing up to assure good services and facilities to Egyptian pilgrims.

In light of this, the ministry launched intensified campaigns to encourage tourist companies to facilitate and fast track travel procedures to Egyptian pilgrims and to ensure them good, affordable accommodations.

In press remarks on Saturday, the ministry stressed that Hajj programs must be drafted and executed in compliance with the safety rules put forth by the Saudi Kingdom, adding that the ensuring safety measures for the elderly is a must.

These programs must include instructions for the pilgrims to adhere to the allocated walking distance inside the Great Mosque, the ministry stressed, adding that the ministry takes it upon itself to monitor the situation in the upcoming season of the pilgrimage and is ready to collaborate with the concerned entities to prevent any incidents.

“The first batch of pilgrims will land on the holy sites on Aug. 5, “the ministry stated.
Saudi Arabia is currently prepping up for the pilgrimage season, whose rituals are regularly performed in Mecca and Medina.
