CAIRO - 9 July 2018: Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit met Monday with Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan to discuss means to boost Sino-Arab relations in the coming stage.

Abul Gheit is in China to attend ministerial meetings ahead of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

The meeting took up international and Arab developments, said AL spokesman Mahmoud Afifi.

He added that Abul Gheit greatly appreciated Beijing's strong support for the Palestinian cause, not to mention Chinese technical assistance to a number of Arab countries.

The Arab world is looking forward to enhancing its relationship with China at the economic and political levels, Abul Gheit told Wang.

For his part, the Chinese VP hailed as good relations between his country and the Arab world.

China, he added, fully supports efforts exerted to achieve security and stability in the Arab world and reach a comprehensive and just settlement to the Palestinian problem.
