CAIRO – 4 July 2018: As part of his current visit to Germany, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry was hosted by the prestigious German think-tank Korber, where an interactive dialogue session was held in presence of Korber’s officials.

In a statement by the ministry on Wednesday, Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Ahmed Abu Zeid, said that the participants slid on discussing the diverse aspects of Egyptian-German relations, given that Germany is a major European partner of Egypt that asserts Egypt's pivotal role in the Middle East as a country of a great deal of geo-strategic importance.

FM Shoukry discusses Egypt's latest economic reforms in Berlin

CAIRO - 4 July 2018: Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry discussed Egypt's latest economic reforms with the Bundestag majority leader Volker Kauder during their meeting in Berlin on Wednesday morning. According to a statement issued by Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Ahmed Abu Zeid, Shoukry affirmed to Kauder Egypt's keenness to maintain strong and friendly relations with Germany.





During the session, Shoukry discussed the current situation of Egypt in light of the recent developments witnessed during the first presidential term of President Abdel Fatah al Sisi, as well as the achievements realized during his tenure in terms of restoring security and stability, empowering state institutions and effectuating a comprehensive economic plan and social protection programs.

He stressed that Egypt’s economy is starting to benefit from the completion of the economic reform plan and get on a positive trajectory, as assessed by the international financial institutions and the current economic indicators.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shoukry, highlighted the most important features of President Sisi’s second term, which will focus on the re-building of the Egyptian man, adding that Germany and Egypt are close partners on development strategies, especially in the field of education and vocational training.

Egypt hosts 5M refugees of different nationalities: FM Shoukry

CAIRO - 4 July 2018: Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry affirmed that Egypt currently hosts nearly 5 million refugees of different nationalities. During a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas on Wednesday in Berlin, Shoukry said Egypt is extremely keen to boost relations with Germany, especially on the economic and political levels.




Furthermore, he presented the Egyptian vision concerning the regional situation, stressing that Egypt has long maintained a consistent policy of supporting and urging political solutions to the regional crises and empowering national state institutions .

The Korper Foundation was established in 1959 and focuses on education, scientific research and culture. Currently, it runs projects that aim at improving digital literacy along with ones that tackle "Life in the Diaspora", "Digital Literacy" and "Europe's Value in the Current International Context".
