Egyptian fans start to arrive in Russia's Yekaterinburg for Egypt-Uruguay tie

YEKATERINBURG/Russia - 14 June 2018: Large numbers of Egyptian fans, living in Russia and abroad, started arriving in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg, where Friday’s Egypt-Uruguay will be held in the 2018 World Cup.

At the same time, a number of Uruguayan fans arrived at Yekaterinburg airport and train station, where they posed for photographs with Egyptian fans and cheered chants to support their national teams.

It is expected that 7,000 to 10,000 Egyptian fans will attend the Friday’s match at the 35,000-seat Yekaterinburg Arena stadium.

Egypt competes in Group A along with Russia, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia, as the latter is set to face the Russian side in the World Cup opener on Thursday.
