CAIRO – 13 May 2018: A Model African Union, sponsored by the World Youth forum (WYF), will be held on Sunday night as a simulation of the African Union Summit.

This came in response to the recommendations of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi in WYF to activate dialogue among the African and Arab youth.

The model will be attended by representatives of 55 African countries, in addition to Saudi Arabia and Emirates as guests of honor. Palestine will participate as an observer member.

During the model, the challenges that the African countries encounter and the means to overcome them will be discussed; the Model African Union will also be attended by a number of prominent and prestigious African personalities.

This model is expected to come out with important recommendations, as Egypt is preparing to host the African Summit in 2019.

The African Union is committed to strengthening a people centered union through active communication of its programmes.
