CAIRO – 10 May 2017: “About 50 percent of our artists working in the opera are resigning and migrating to Arab countries with artistic activities in the recent period,” said the head of Cairo Opera House, Inas Abdel Dayem, following that we are facing great disaster, on Wednesday.

Abdel Dayem added during the meeting of the Committee on Culture, Information and Antiquities in the House of Representatives that the artists’ migration to Dubai, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain is due to major differences in salaries and activities.

She pointed out that the Opera House is depending mainly on artists.

The Cairo Opera House, part of Cairo's National Cultural Center, is the main performing arts venue in the Egyptian capital.
