CAIRO - 10 May 2017: A newly-built church has been inaugurated at a village in Minya Governorate, amid celebrations held by Muslims and Copts from residents there, the villagers stated to Egypt Today.

The new church is the second one that was inaugurated in less than a year in the same village.

Minya's Muslims and Copts financially contributed in establishing the new church under a theme of Celebrate Building Second Church, conveying a message showing solidarity between people adopting Islam and Christianity.

The village's Muslims emphasized their solidarity with their Copts brothers, stating that friendly relations would foil any attempt to destabilize fraternity between society sects.
"Building a new church in less than a year is a clue for the amity and cooperation existing between Muslims and Copts," a Muslim villager said.

Celebrations were held in the village with the presence of the majority of the villagers, marking the inauguration of the second new church.
