CAIRO – 25 April 2018: Saudi Arabia’s new ambassador to Egypt, Osama al- Nugali, arrived in Cairo on Wednesday to assume office, replacing former ambassador Ahmed El Kattan.

Members of the Saudi embassy in Egypt and a representative of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry received the new ambassador at the airport.

The new Ambassador will present his credentials papers to the Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al Sisi in the coming days in preparation to start his official duties.

Nugali used to be the Saudi deputy minister of foreign affairs for public diplomacy affairs and served as head of the media department at the ministry.

Kattan completed his assignment as Saudi ambassador to Egypt in March. Egypt’s President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi held a ceremony to celebrate Kattan’s successful diplomatic mission to Egypt. Sisi awarded Kattan the Nile Sash, in recognition of his efforts in enhancing Egyptian-Saudi relations over the past 14 years.
