DAMASCUS - 14 April 2018: The Syrian News Agency (SANA) said on Saturday that life is normal in the capital Damascus.

Reports that tanks are deployed in the streets of Damascus are groundless and bare of truth, added the agency.

Missiles launched by the US, Britain and France did not achieve their planned targets thanks to the Syrian air defenses which warded off the attack, added the agency.

The agency added that the missiles targeted a research center leaving a building of scientific laboratories and training center destroyed. No casualties were reported, added the agency.

Also, the missiles that targeted a military site in Homs were warded off. Three civilians were injured in the attack, according to the agency

In a related development, a Syrian official source said that the Syrian army had received an early warning by the Russian side about the military operation and all sites were evacuated before the attack.

Al Arabia Al Hadath channel quoted the source, whom it did not name, as saying that up to 30 missiles were launched in the attack and one third of them were shot down.
