CAIRO - 30 March 2018: In accordance with the 2014 Constitution, Egypt's elected president should swear in before parliament early June to start officially a four-year term in office, according to MP Salah Hasaballah, spokesperson for the Egyptian parliament.

Egypt’s presidential election, which took place between March 26 and 28, witnessed a competition between only two candidates: incumbent President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and head of the el-Ghad Party Moussa Moustafa Moussa.

Initial figures showed that 21,088,295 voted for Sisi in polling stations across Egypt, excluding several stations in Cairo and Giza, while Moussa gathered 682,797 votes.

The final results of the first round will be announced on April 2.
