CAIRO – 10 March 2018: Egypt’s Ambassador to Serbia Amr al-Jowaily confirmed on Saturday the embassy's keenness to listen to the Egyptian community’s suggestions regarding ways to promote bilateral relations, with those people being the most knowledgeable and living longest in Serbia.

In his first periodic meeting with the Egyptian community in Serbia, Jowaily called for enhancing economic and trade cooperation between Serbia and Egypt.

The members presented ideas to increase Egyptian exports to Serbia, particularly in the fields of agriculture and feed products such as the vegetables, salt, cotton and leathers.

Jowaily also announced that the next meeting will be held in May and will focus on education.

He called on the Egyptian community to participate in the upcoming presidential election in Egypt, which will be held abroad on March 16 to 18, 2018, and he called on all Egyptians who have not registered to vote to do so as soon as possible.

From the other side, the Serbian authorities affirmed the embassy’s efforts facilitate the registration of the Egyptian community to participate in the 2018 Presidential election.

Additionally, on November 5, 2017, Minister of Youth and Sports Khaled Abdel Aziz met with Serbia’s Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovičić to discuss means of enhancing cooperation between Egypt and Serbia on the sidelines of the World Youth Forum held in Sharm el-Sheikh from November 4 to 10 under the patronage of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.
