CAIRO - 5 March 2018: Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese praised his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral, pointing out that the Saudi Crown Prince expressed his great appreciation to the Copts.

In press statements on Monday after his meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince, the pope said they talked about brotherly relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, lauding the renaissance which Saudi Arabia is witnessing nowadays.

The Saudi crown prince spoke about his appreciation of the Copts, Tawadros noted, adding that he invited all the Copts to visit Saudi Arabia, especially Pope Tawadros.

The pope denied reports that he discussed setting up an Orthodox church in Saudi Arabia during his meeting with his Saudi guest.

He thanked the crown prince for his first-time visit, expressing admiration of the reforms being carried out in the kingdom.

Meanwhile, the Saudi crown prince thanked the pope over his warm reception and expressed appreciation of his sense of patriotism and the self-restraint he has shown after terror attacks committed against some Coptic churches.
