CAIRO - 18 February 2018: The Foreign Ministry is aware of the circumstances behind Ethiopia's request to delay the ministerial meeting on Ethiopia's Renaissance Dam, the spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a statement on Sunday.

The statement added that the ministry received a written notification on Sudan's decision to postpone the meeting upon Ethiopia's request.

The spokesman hoped that these circumstances would change soon.

He underlined the importance of adhering to the timetable set by the leaders to settle technical disputes vis-a-vis the dam for the best interests of the three states.

The meeting was scheduled to be held on Feb 24-25 in Khartoum with the participation of the ministers of foreign affairs and water resources and intelligence chiefs of Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia.
