CAIRO- 24 April 2017: The ambassador of India to Egypt, Sanjay Bhattacharyya emphasized the strong relations between both countries on the sidelines of the “India by the Nile” festival held in Sayed Darwish Theatre in Alexandria on Sunday.
The Indian ambassador expressed his country’s desire to support and strengthen its relation with Egypt day after day while noting that the “India by the Nile” festival is considered a celebration that gathers both Indians and Egyptians together.
The festival, which celebrates its fifth round, was attended by the Indian ambassador to Egypt and the governor of Alexandria, Mohammed Sultan and included a group of dance-style segments that expressed the Indian folklore.
On his part, Sultan stressed the importance of hosting such cultural events in which different countries of the world participate while noting the importance of cultural and civilization exchange with other nations in order to strengthen the bonds of cooperation.
He pointed out that Egypt and India are close and both have great civilizations.
The festival was held under the patronage of the Head of the Egyptian Opera House, Enas Abdel Dayem at Sayed Darwish Theatre in Alexandria.
The fifth round of the festival takes place from 8 March to 27 April in Cairo, Alexandria, Port Said, and Ismalia governorates.
