CAIRO- 23 April 2017: Tourism police in Sharqia aborted an attempt to sell an ancient Egyptian statue of King Psusennes, the founder of the 21stDynasty, for $ 5 million as well as 239 historic coins.

Tourism policemen disguised as antiquity brokers in San el-Hagar city, Sharqia, after been informed about two people in Al-Shawafeen village who were planning to excavate antiquities.

They visited the merchants in their homes and checked the statue and the coins.

The antiquity merchants were arrested red-handed.
