CAIRO-22 April, 2017: The Egyptian Consulate in Jeddah is following up on the murder of Egyptian citizen Ahmed El-Hady Abdou Soliman who died on Thursday in Saudi Arabia, Consul General of Egypt to Saudi Arabia Hazem Ramadan stated Saturday.

Saudi police have arrested the criminal and he confessed stabbing Soliman, the statement read.

Soliman was stabbed to death by a Yemeni resident in Khamis Mushayt city, south-west Saudi Arabia.

Ramadan clarified that he sent the permanent delegate of the consulate to the city after the crime took place to follow up on the investigation, adding that the delegate met with the relatives of the victim in Saudi Arabia.

The consul emphasized that the procedures needed to get the rights of the Egyptian citizen are underway, praising how fast the Saudi security forces dealt with the accident and their full cooperation with the consulate.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry sent its condolences to the family of the deceased.
