Irrigation ministry rejects ENTRO remarks on Ethiopian dam

CAIRO - 11 January 2018: The Irrigation Ministry spokesman denounced on Thursday remarks by the Eastern Nile Technical Regional Office (ENTRO) executive director on rejecting Egypt's proposal to involve the World Bank as a neutral party in negotiations of the tripartite technical committee on the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

In a statement, Hossam el Emam said his ministry totally rejects such remarks and calls on the ENTRO chief executive officer not to cross the limits of his authority.

ENTRO is just part of the Nile Basin Initiative and has nothing to do with negotiations over the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, he said.
