CAIRO - 6 January 2018: The foreign ministers of Egypt and Saudi Arabia met Saturday on the sidelines of a six-way meeting on al Quds in Amman.

Egypt's Sameh Shoukry reviewed with Adel al Jubair, his Saudi counterpart, developments in the Arab world and the Horn of Africa region, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.

They also discussed Red Sea security, which is integral to the Arab national security, Abu Zeid added.

The top diplomats agreed on tools by which to counter foreign interference in Arab affairs, the spokesman further said.

The meeting also tackled the latest Palestinian developments, with the two foreign ministers stressing the importance of maintaining the historical and legal status of al Quds in line with relevant international legitimacy resolutions, Abu Zeid noted.

Shoukry and Jubair also agreed on the need to push forward efforts to revive the Middle East peace process, and reach a just and comprehensive settlement to the Palestinian problem, the spokesman said.

Figuring high at the talks were also developments in Yemen, Syria and Libya, he added.
