CAIRO – 5 January 2018: Abdulrahman Hussein is the name of the Egyptian teen that was named as the smartest kid in the world at a global competition held in Malaysia this week that saw the participation of 70 countries.

Hussein claimed the top spot, surpassing 3,000 children coming from all over the world. The 13-year-old child managed to solve complex arithmetic problems in less than eight minutes.

During an interview with Arabiya, Hussein said his family constantly puts their weight behind him and encouraged him to participate in several minor competitions to prep himself up for the international one in Malaysia.

“Hussein was trained to strengthen his memory and observation through the power of his mind and brainstorming to solve complex math problems in record times,” Hussein’s teacher Batul Mohamed Monatsser was quoted by Arabiya.
