CAIRO – 2 January 2018: The internet service was fully back to normal after a cut in an undersea cable was repaired, Telecom Egypt said on Tuesday.

In a statement, Telecom Egypt, the country's largest internet provider, said it has secured alternative internet options in order not to affect the internet service in Egypt.

The cable cut now has no impact on internet traffic for Telecom Egypt users or any of its operators in the country, the company stressed.

Earlier in the day, Telecom Egypt said on its Facebook page that internet services in Egypt and other neighboring countries were experiencing a problem.
