CAIRO – 23 December 2017: President Abdul Fatah al-Sisi will inaugurate on Saturday major national projects in the cities of the Canal. The inauguration will be attended by senior state officials, public figures, youth and representatives from all state institutions.

The inauguration event includes the tunnel of Ismailia, situated on the west bank of the Suez Canal. The tunnel will be used in crossing Drilling machines to the east side of channel.

Sisi is expected to witness the crossing of one of the drilling machines from west side to the east side during the inauguration event.

Sisi will also inaugurate two floating bridges. The first is built on the Suez Canal, and will be named after Ahmed Al-Mansi, who was killed during the July 2017 terror attack in Sinai.

The second floating bridge is located in El Qantara, in the governorate of Ismailia. It will be named after Abanoub Girgis, the martyr killed during the terrorist attack of Sheikh Zwaid in 2015.

The second stage of aquaculture projects in the East of the Suez Canal will also be inaugurated.
