CAIRO – 19 December 2017: Antiquities Minister Khaled El-Enany said that he issued a decision to establish a holding company to invest in the field of antiquities.

During parliament’s Tourism and Civil Aviation Committee meeting, chaired by Sahar Talaat Moustafa, the minister added that the company’s general assembly was formed and scheduled to meet in January 2018 in order to form members of its board.

He announced that the holding company’s first subsidiary will be regarding tourist services offered, such as sightseeing, pointing out that this is a very important move.

The minister declared he does not mind opening the Pyramids plateau at night, but getting the Ministry of Interior’s approval is a requirement.

“The Pyramid already opens twice a month, while opening it at night could cost LE 20,000 ($1,120),” Enany said.

Meanwhile, he said that he received requirements from a number of investors who want to visit the Grand Egyptian Museum in return for a payment of $1,000.
