RAMALLAH - 11 December 2017: Palestinian President's adviser for religious affairs Mahmoud Al Habbash said that the Palestinian leadership seeks to unify Arab, Islamic and international stances against the US president's decision on Jerusalem.

In statements to Al Arabiya Al Hadath news channel on Monday, the Palestinian Authority is holding contacts with Arab, Islamic, international parties to close ranks to support Palestinians' right in establishing an independent state with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital.

On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and said the US embassy will be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The decision raised Arabs' and US allies' hackles.

It also sparked a wave of protests in the Palestinian territories and in various world countries.
